Meet the Teacher

Fela

Raised in East London of Nigeria decent Fela Adebiyi has extensive international experience as a yoga teacher. Fela began studying Iyengar yoga in 1991, and 6 years later began practising Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga with Alex Medin and became his assistant.

His teaching brings together the precision of alignment, anatomical detail, and profound meditative experience.   Fela is a long time student of the meditative arts following the Himalayan traditions and Buddhist studies, beginning with Vipassana.

His teaching style is unique in being able to weave together a poetic metaphor with clear instruction filled with compassion and humour.

He lives the yogic principles in all areas of his life and his empathic communication style brings healing, and in his teachings, he applies that same method of picking each individual up where they are in their practice. But he teaches so much more than asanas.

With his mindset of equanimity and self-realization, he naturally opens up new perspectives in other areas as well, like self-care, relationships, tenderness and nutrition for spirit, body, and soul. Fela is uniquely equipped to guide people to new realms of consciousness and he does this from the position of teacher and student alike.
